One common characteristic of aging Cordura fabric is that the interior coating can become tacky over time. This occurs due to the natural breakdown of the polyurethane (PU) coating that is applied to the inside of Cordura for water resistance. Exposure to heat, humidity, and long-term storage can accelerate this process, leading to a sticky texture.

What You Can Do:

• Air it out: Hang the item in a well-ventilated area to help reduce odor and tackiness.

• Use talcum powder or cornstarch: Lightly dusting the sticky areas can help absorb moisture and reduce stickiness.

• Use an organizer: Place any delicate items like clothing you want to keep clean in a nylon mesh bag or plastic bag.

• Avoid heat: Keep the material away from high temperatures, which can worsen the stickiness.
